Morca Method of Flamenco Technique and Repertoire
Morca method of flamenco technique and repertoire, the most innovative study of the art of flamenco. Look flamenco, feel flamenco, move flamenco, understand flamenco. Morca is a true master teacher, choreographer, lecturer and dancer. In 1974, Morca offered the very first All Flamenco Workshop Festival in the United States. Morca's way of teaching has become the model of which almost all other workshop formats have copied. Morca's comprehensive approach to developing performance quality brings out the best in his students naturally. He molds individual style and fosters a sense of class, grace, finesse, focus, strength, projection, dynamics, energy, musicality, phrasing, control, and interpretation. In his character classes for classical students, he begins with the upper body, emphasizing beautiful carriage and arms, mixed with the earthy quality of Spanish and Flamenco dance. This sense of inner energy is then combined with the elegance and unique torso of the Spanish classical bolero school. Students are shown the magic of "becoming the dance" and how rewarding it is to be inspired by the essence of all dance forms--meaning any form of movement that says and feels something. At this level, Morca can successfully portray the character, romance, and passions intrinsic to Classical and Flamenco. He imparts the essential inner spirit or soul--and so reveals the "emotion in motion" between artist and audience. Morca continues to give the most comprehensive flamenco workshops where dancers learn to understand flamenco: feel flamenco, look flamenco, move flamenco -- Morca takes the mystery out of flamenco technique and shows where the magic happens. Morca offers his unique workshops all over the world, as flamenco has become a universal art form. Morca's teaching methods are innovative, unique, intense and exciting. He provides an in depth approach with separate technique classes featuring his own method of working from the upper body down in total coordination, using both the four and the twelve count compases. There are also repertoire classes that teach full dances in both compases with stress on interpretation and understanding. Classes can be tailored to any level, from beginner to professional, including coaching and full choreographies. Please feel free to contact us to start a dialogue: morca@morca.com |
