Teo Morca Has Garnered a Wealth
of Experience Through His Life-Long Career

Teodoro Morca has enjoyed a long and productive career as a flamenco dancer, choreographer, teacher, lecturer and author. He has starred in his own companies, MORCA DANCE THEATRE and FLAMENCO IN CONCERT in performances all over the world and in every state in the United States of America.

Morca has been guest flamenco artist and choreographer with Pilar Lopez, touring throughout Spain, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Italy.

He was featured flamenco dancer at the Cafe de Chinitas in Madrid with La Chunga. Teo MOrca has appeared as guest and/or choreographer with Lola Montes, Jose Greco, Pilar Lopez, Luis Rivera, Maria Benitez, Tony Alba, Maria Alba Teresa, and many other companies.

Morca won the St. Denis Choreographic award in New York City for his MAGIC BOOTS FANTASY AND TOCCATA and FUGUE IN D MINOR OF J.S. BACH; a choreographic award in Spain; and has also received various fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.

He has been on the faculties of many universities, on the advisory panel of the NEA, and is a commissioner of the Washington Arts Commission. He is a writer for the Flamenco publication JALEO, and a contributing writer for DANCE MAGAZINE.

Morca's book "Becoming the Dance, Flamenco Spirit" is a classic, and is used in many Universities. Morca was one of the first performers, teachers and choreographers for the first six years of the Albuquerque, New Mexico, Flamenco Festival.

MORCA DANCE THEATRE gave multi-faceted residencies throughout the U.S. under the auspices of the Dance Touring Program of the National Endowment for the Arts. Since 1968, Teodoro Morca has appeared in six seasons at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival as performer, teacher, lecturer, and choreographer.

He has appeared as guest artist and/or choreographer with other companies including Delta Festival Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Cleo Parker Robinson and many other Spanish, Ballet, and Modern companies.

Morca Has a Large Repertoire for Orchestra

With an exciting orchestral repertoire, Teodoro has appeared as guest artist with many Chamber and Symphony Orchestras including the Honolulu Symphony, The New Orleans Symphony, The New Mexico Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, Madrid Chamber Orchestra, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, and many others.

The artistry of Teodoro Morca has matured in many other places besides the concert stage, including featured artist at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood, Sahara Hotel, Desert Inn Hotel, and Riviera Hotels of Las Vegas, and was the opening act on tour with Johnny Mathis. He has danced in European coffee houses, at a gypsy wedding, in the Taos Indian Pueblo (where he was honored with an Indian name, "Dancing Eagle"), in bull rings in Spain for the Festivales de Espana, and on cruise ships. He has been on numerous TV specials and movies including "The Joys of Bach;" Dinah Shore Show "You Asked For It", where he broke the Guinness Book of Records for the fastest footwork; "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse"; and the "The Wonderful World of Brothers Grimm".
